I rate the bare root because I won't see this fern until Spring when it comes up. The root size is fairly large but not the largest I've ever purchased online. That being said, I have nothing to complain about. They were shipped in a clear plastic bag with plenty of moisture for the trip. It was (and still is) kind of warm here so they are in the refrigerator in the dark in the garage awaiting cooler weather to plant them. Time will tell.

All plants arrived just starting to sprout. Growth is not as full as expected but I am sure it will be better next year once they have settled into their new location.

Healthy, nice roots.

In December I received ten bare root Christmas Tree ferns and planted them immediately. Each one had a large rhizome with multiple shoots and root hairs. I am looking forward to seeing healthy ferns next spring.

Planted these 3 weeks ago. So far only 3 of the 10 have emerged.
