I rated the "grab bag" average. There were 2 leather wood ferns (nice and large and healthy) and then there were 8 ostrich ferns with what I consider small to medium sized crowns. I was afraid it might contain ostrich ferns as the majority. I already have ostrich ferns and they spread aggressively into my lawn. I had to put a metal barrier 9 inches into the ground to prevent their spread. I've given away crowns larger than I received and I actually took these and planted them along a creek in our neighborhood to let them naturalize and spread their beauty there. I didn't need more ostrich crowns so these were shared with Mother Nature.

I ordered two fern grab bag, they are bare root as I expected. It appears that I received two varieties of ferns. I was hoping to get 3 or more varieties in the grab bag. We'll see how they come up next spring.

I was looking for this option of assorted fern roots and when they arrived they were fresh, moist and ready to be planted. Very happy with this purchase!

The roots/rhizomes we're large and arrived in great condition! I got them potted up immediately so now I'm waiting for them to come up this spring. The trout lily I ordered is already coming up, definitely recommend this nursery!
