Product Description

Lady Fern

The Lady Fern is a beautiful addition to any landscape or garden. It is a smaller type fern that reaches around 2 feet. It is can also be called Atrium Felix-Femina. This fern also likes moist partly shaded areas. Great for gardens landscaped around the trunk of a tree. It has spreading fern forming mounds of handsome, thrice-cut fronds. This plant is native to many areas of the US.

This fern is a common plant in the shade plants category. It is used quite frequently in landscaping because it can do well in many growing regions of the country. This plant does best in partial and full shade making it very popular for shaded lawns.

As it matures, this beauty grows to 2-3 feet making perfect for even smaller areas. This plant does not do well in arid regions as it requires a moist wet soil type to thrive. The primary reason the plant cannot stand full sun areas is that this kind of environment will dry up the delicate leaves and root system. This is one of the best shade plants in part because it is considered a fast-growing plant which is wonderful for new landscaping areas.

The Lady fern is a perennial and is primarily used as the perfect border or accent plant for landscaping.

It is a relatively hardy plant in stormy weather. The plant often has a yellow to medium green tone, but darker tones in more shaded areas. The plant grows continuously throughout the summer months. Its leaves are feathery, cascading and taper to a point which makes a defined statement as a border or accent to any landscaped area. That is why these plants are often used in bouquets as an accent to the first flowers.

The lady fern ships bare root (root/rhizome only)with no foliage at time of shipment. Lady fern are guaranteed to be all you ever wanted!
