Product Description

Loblolly Pine, Pinus Taeda

Loblolly Pine Tree: The American Classic
The Loblolly pine tree is a beautiful American tree that stays green most of the year. It can be found throughout the United States and is especially prominent in the southeastern states. It is distinguished by its unique bark, large trunk, and unusually light green needles. It also has a unique aroma that is quite noticeable and distinct. Presently it is among the fastest plants to spread throughout the American south and has been used to diversify all types of landscapes.

This unique evergreen tree is almost always green and can reach heights of sixty to ninety feet.It spreads to reach a breadth of twenty-five to thirty-five feet too. Not only does the tree grow large, but it does so at a fast rate. This tree can increase by 24 inches in a single year.

Pine is the second most common tree in the United States. This tree can reach 100-115 feet tall. They grow great in acidic clay dirt, which is common throughout the South, and are thus often found in large stands in rural areas.

This tree is one of the most beautiful evergreen trees around. It stands out from the rest of the evergreen trees because it has beautiful brown-red bark that presents in large plates. The needles are a pale green color which is stunning any time of the year. It is very adaptable to soil conditions and can even tolerate a bit of flooding or drought.

The Loblolly is even great for forming a quick screen as they grow around twenty-four inches in a year.

Late in their life, their lower branches fall off, and it makes for a magnificent shade tree. The aroma the tree puts out is always very pleasing. In fact, that is why it is also called "Rosemary Pine." No matter the application, you would be hard-pressed to find a better tree.

    Loblolly Pine

    Mar 25, 2022 Reviewer: Caroline A Griesemer

I am cautiously optimistic that these trees will perk up and be successful. They arrived in a timely manner, were well prepared to ship. The trees were indeed 3-4 feet as listed, but very spindly. Fingers crossed!

    Healthy and well packaged!

Mar 14, 2022 Reviewer: Carolyn Cuskey

I ordered 4 loblollies 3-4' tall. They came well packaged with moist gell around the roots for hydration. I unpacked them, stored overnight in a bin of water, and planted the next day. The tops were a little bent over in the box, but have straightened out nicely after 4 days, including a 3" snowfall! I'm very pleased with these little trees and look forward to watching them grow!

I love these trees. For just small trees they grew very fast. Highly reccommend.
