Phlox Subulata - Blue Emerald - 1 GALLON

Phlox Subulata Blue Emerald, bare root plants are also commonly known as Creeping Phlox, is best used on slopes or banks and for ground cover. The plant tends to attract butterflies, so it's a great idea to use it in a decorative rock garden. Creeping Phlox has a mass of pinkish/purplish flowers in spring and will require little to no maintenance once it's established. The leaves are a deep green color and can be clipped to promote dense coverage. For optimal growth, be sure to water in scorching temperatures and they grow well in zones 3-9.

The Phlox Subulata groundcover should be planted where there is full sun to provide the best growth conditions.

In addition, this creeping phlox deer resistant, so it may be the right choice if there's wildlife nearby. The plant can also be used as an edger and is an excellent choice along walls or fences where it can hang downwards and spread, making for an attractive landscape. Pruning after the bloom will ensure the removal of any dead or overgrown leaves and flowers, paving the way for continued growth.
